Fabulous February Has begun….
Through the Month of January, the resolution to Sleep early and wake up early has been successful… Congratulations…. Keep Going…
Let’s renew our resolutions towards Good Health….

When we wake up in the morning, the one that energises us after a relaxing sleep is The SUN.
The SUN greets us every morning. How many of us greet the Sun. From today an added resolution for this Year 2021 is ‘Greeting the SUN, Feeling the SUN’
The Sun bestows good Health. The Sun energises us, nourishes us, heals us…
Most of Nature lives in Harmony with Nature’s rhythm as dictated by the course and direction of the Sun…
Exposing our body, our skin regularly to SUN’s rays is a vital nourishment to the body. It helps healing of a lot of physical, mental illnesses. Helps body manufacture Vitamin D which is very important for the body. Lot of ailments like arthritis, high blood pressure, hormonal variations, diabetes, obesity, heart diseases, neurological dysfunctions, infections and certain types of cancers
Sunlight can uplift your mood, control appetite, helps to clear up skin conditions like psoriasis.
Sunlight is also very good for your vision.
When the skin is exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet rays, a cholesterol compound in the skin is transformed into a precursor of vitamin D. This fat-soluble vitamin is required for the absorption of calcium by the body. It’s also necessary for growth and protects against muscle weakness.
As we know in India babies are given oil bath, and even adults mostly during certain festivals have a nice oil massage, expose to sunlight and then have bath…. Probably that was a way to provide add-on fat for this fat soluble vitamin….
Exposure to sunlight when the heat of the sun is comfortable for your skin is better option.
You need to expose a good part of your skin to sun for half an hour or more..

I went through a few articles about when is the best time to expose yourself to sun.
Sunlight has ultraviolet rays – UVA, UVB and UVC
Out of the ultraviolet rays only UVB rays are capable of producing Vitamin D. The wavelength of these rays is 280 to 315 nanometres. Nanometres is the subtle most parameter for measuring length.
UVB frequencies are found in sunlight from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Only if sunrays fall directly on the skin then Vitamin D is produced.
So let’s improve our health by exposing ourselves to sufficient sunlight and not forgetting our resolution we made in the beginning of this Year to sleep early and wake up early.
So Let’s invoke the Sun asking for good health and exposing yourself to sunlight….
‘आरोग्यं भास्करात् इच्छेत् ’
Meaning: Sought health from Sun
I did not want to make a resolution till I made sure that Sunlight is really beneficial. From the time I read the article, I stood outside for an hour from 11.30 a.m. everyday either outside the house or on the open terrace. I allowed the rays of the Sun to envelope me. You won’t believe what I found. I found that I was charged with a new found enthusiasm to go about my duties. The push I needed for completing my tasks came from the energy I derived from Sunlight. You are right Raina. I too have now formed a resolution to get the benefit of Sunlight. Henceforth, I too will spend a minimum of one hour everyday outside the house or on the terrace of my house from 11.30 a.m to draw energy from the Sun to overcome my sluggishness. Thank you for the advice.
Congratulations Ranga and Best wishes for the Healthier you. Also take care to choose the time based on the comfort and the best benefits you are getting. I hope you always have the best and Enjoy
Thank you for the Feb(Fab)ulous Sun health tip….towards a better health…
