It’s Challenging times, Challenging days.
Let’s face it strongly. Let’s make All Resolutions we made every month from January our weapons to fight the pandemic.
Resolution for the Month of May “Breathe”
Breath is life. Breath is energy.
Have you observed your breathing when in anxiety, fear, or Panic?
Have you observed your breathing when in anger?
People who are anxious tend to breathe more in their upper lungs (upper chest) with shallow, rapid breaths, instead of breathing into their lower lungs or whole of the lungs.
When you’re angry, you might notice your breathing gets quicker and more shallow.
Shallow breathing for long durations results in lowered defences, lowered immune cells. Body gets susceptible to acute illnesses, aggravates pre-existing medical conditions, prolong healing time.
Shallow breathing constantly can turn into panic attacks, cause dry mouth and fatigue, aggravate respiratory problems and other issues.
So breathe slow, relaxed, silent and deep.
Some of the Benefits of Deep Breathing are

- Improves immunity
- Calms down anxiety
- Helps you sleep better
- Increases energy level
- Improves posture
- Reduces inflammation
- Helps combat pain
- Reduces blood Pressure
- Improves Digestion
Suggesting a couple of Breathing exercises.
- As you breathe in bulge up your abdomen. As you breathe out sink it in. Do this as slowly as is comfortable for you. Keep your neck muscles and shoulder muscles relaxed.
- Breathe in from nose and as slowly as possible breathe out from mouth.
- Breathe in from right nostril by closing left nostril and breathe out from left nostril. Breathe in again from left nostril and breathe out from right nostril.
All the above minimum 9 times each. Can do more than once a day.
Also don’t miss the resolutions since January which is much more required in these tough times.
